As this is a place with a long history, the most interesting site in Thassos is the Ancient Agora, a site with old temples, remains of sanctuaries, an Ancient Theatre, and other buildings. Very interesting is also the Monastery of Archangel Michael, protector of the island, with a great view of the sea.
